Meet Jester!
Jester is a handsome 5.5-year-old Rottweiler with a big, blocky head and an even bigger heart. Weighing in at 73 pounds, this sweet guy is more of a laid-back companion than a go-go-go athlete. He’s happiest relaxing next to you on the couch while you watch TV, soaking up quality time with his people.
Jester walks well on leash (though he can pull a bit when excited) and absolutely loves working for treats. He already knows sit, lay down, stay, and come, and he’s eager to keep learning. He’s crate trained, mostly house trained with only two accidents in his foster home, and is a fantastic car rider—road trip buddy approved.
He has done well with a majority of female dogs and even lived peacefully with one during his Thanksgiving foster stay. Jester would do best in a home without male dogs. His experience with cats is unknown. Because a lot of young kids can stress him out, he’s best suited for a home with older children who can respect his space.
Jester would thrive in a home with a fenced yard rather than an apartment, where he can enjoy fresh air and leisurely strolls. He is affectionate, friendly, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick.
Jester is heartworm positive and we will manage his treatment, but will need a committed adopter willing to continue his care—we’ll walk you through what that looks like. Due to his breed, he is application only.
