SECOND CUP OF JOE AND JOHN

Weekday Mornings • 6–10 AM

After making his return to Nashville radio on Hippie 94.5, Joe Elvis is setting the
alarm clock and moving from afternoons to mornings, and he’s bringing longtime
friend John Dwyer with him for Hippie’s new morning show, Second Cup of Joe and John.

Joe is a Nashville radio institution who spent 25 years ruling afternoon drive at 103 KDF
and 105.9 The Rock. Then things got weird. He became a TV weatherman, worked in
ministry, learned to fly jets and somehow still found time to spend 40 years behind the
drums with legendary post-punk band Government Cheese. Retirement clearly didn’t take.

John spent 29 years in television, including 18 years as a sports director and news
anchor at WKRN-TV, collecting nine Emmys and a Tennessee Sportscaster of the Year
award along the way. He eventually traded the anchor desk for the nonprofit world and
now serves as President & CEO of JAG Tennessee. Because apparently one full-time
job wasn’t enough either.

Joe and John have been friends for decades and podcast partners since 2022. They
know each other well enough to finish each other’s stories, question each other’s facts and occasionally argue

like brothers. Now they’re doing it every morning. Expect great music, Nashville stories, interesting guests,

useless information, questionable opinions and absolutely no guarantee they’ll stay on topic.
Second Cup of Joe and John. Because one cup probably isn’t enough.
